Cargo Ship Caught Fire Containing Porsches, Lambos Cost Atleast $155 Million

According to one researcher, the cargo ship that caught fire last week carrying roughly 4,000 Volkswagen automobiles might cost the carmaker at least $155 million. Russell Group believes that of the $438 million total value of items aboard the Felicity Ace, which went up in flames off the coast of Portugal’s Azores Islands, $401 million is worth of vehicles. The vessel featured Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini cars from the Volkswagen Group. On Monday, a Volkswagen spokeswoman declined to comment on the situation. The operator of the Felicity Ace, Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd, stated on its website that two huge tugs with firefighting equipment would arrive Monday early local time to begin spraying water alongside an initial salvage team.
