For the cake:

2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
Blue and green food coloring
For the frosting:

2 cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
8 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Blue and green food coloring

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three parts, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Divide the cake batter into two equal portions. Using food coloring, dye one portion blue and the other portion green.

Pour the blue cake batter into one prepared cake pan, and the green cake batter into another prepared cake pan.

For the third cake pan, alternate spoonful’s of the blue and green cake batter to create a marbled effect. Use a skewer or toothpick to gently swirl the colors together.

Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the frosting, beat the butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth and creamy.

Divide the frosting into two equal portions and dye each portion with the corresponding color of the cake layers.

Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost the top of one blue cake layer with blue frosting. Place the marbled cake layer on top and frost with green frosting. Finally, place the green cake layer on top and frost with blue frosting.

Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to create “waves” on the sides of the cake. Add blue and green sprinkles to resemble sea foam.

Optionally, you can decorate the top of the cake with additional ocean-themed decorations, such as fondant sea creatures, seashells, or mermaid tails.

Slice the cake and serve, revealing the beautiful ocean waves design to your delighted guests!

Enjoy your homemade Ocean Waves Cake, a perfect addition to any celebration or party at Ocean Mall.
