Scientists Invents Tortoise-Shaped Pill That Could End Use Of Injections

▫ Scientists at MIT have created a specially shaped pill that can be taken by swallowing it, eliminating the need for needle injections.

▫ Researchers created a pill inspired by the Leopard Tortoise’s shell to ensure that the vaccine components do not break down in the digestive tract when consumed.

▫ The tablet was initially designed in 2019 for injecting medications such as insulin into the stomach lining, and Mumbai-born Dr Ameya Kirtane is the study’s lead author.
