According to Business Insider, Ever Forward, another cargo ship controlled by Evergreen Marine Corp, became aground on Sunday in the Chesapeake Bay after departing from the port of Baltimore in the United States.
Ever Given ran aground in the Suez Canal over a year ago, halting international freight trade for six days until it could be refloated. According to ABC News, the resulting traffic gridlock cost global trade up to $9 billion per day while also putting further strain on supply lines that were already strained due to the pandemic.
