A mass distributed denial of service attack knocked off several Ukrainian government websites on Wednesday, according to Mykhailo Fedorov, the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation’s Telegram channel.According to Fedorov, the attack began at 4 p.m. local time and impacted some banks. He didn’t disclose which banks were targeted or how much harm was done.
As of Wednesday morning Eastern time, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet of Ministers, and Rada, the country’s parliament, all had their websites down. Officials were attempting to redirect traffic away from the government sites in order to minimise damage, he said.
