Chinese scientists have already developed a blood test that can accurately diagnose lung cancer in 90% of cases. The Peking University People’s Hospital in Beijing created the Lung Cancer Artificial Intelligence Detector, or LCAID.
▫ After a series of investigations, they came up with a list of nine common biomarkers among lung cancer patients. After that, an artificial intelligence algorithm was created using the data.
▫ The study’s findings were published in Science Translational Medicine on Wednesday after examining over 1,000 people. When compared to traditional procedures, the test had a sensitivity of 90% and a specificity of 92 percent for identifying lung cancer.
