In November, Elon Musk gave about $6 billion in Tesla stock to charity, making it one of the largest gifts in history.
The gift came as the world’s wealthiest man sparred with lawmakers such as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren over inequality and the possibility of a wealthy levy. Musk also said he’d sell stock if the UN could prove it would help end world hunger around the same time.
The recipient was not named, but Musk stated that a major donation to charity would assist lower what he said would be the largest tax bill ever in the United States.
